What is the EU Innovation Fund?
The EU Innovation Fund is one of the world's largest funding programmes for innovative low-carbon technologies. Financed by revenues from the EU Emissions Trading System, it supports the deployment of clean technologies across energy-intensive industries, renewable energy, energy storage, and carbon capture.
Projects are selected through competitive calls. Large-scale projects receive grants of over €7.5 million; small-scale projects receive up to €7.5 million. Once selected, projects progress through grant agreement preparation and then into implementation.
