Should the costs disclosed in table 1 (cost over time) and table 2 (total cost) be aligned for year 1?

Answer

Yes. Table 2 intends to show a breakdown of one of the figures included in table 1. This applies both to PRIPs as well as to insurance-based investment products. For PRIPs which show costs in table 2 at 1 year in Euros, the sum of the different rows in table 2 should equal the ‘Total costs’ figure in Euros shown at 1 year in table 1. Equally, for insurance-based investment products, the sum of the different rows in table 2 showing ‘Annual cost impact’ percentage figures should equal the annual cost impact percentage figure at the RHP in table 1. Taking this into account, table 2 does not include a ‘Total’ row given that this figure should already be provided in table 1.
