Green Claims Directive
The proposed EU Green Claims Directive (COM/2023/166) will require businesses making environmental claims about products to substantiate those claims against recognised certification schemes. EU Ecolabel certification — where the licence is current and active — provides a recognised basis for compliant green claims under the proposed framework.
