Question
Validation BV797 is non-blocking. It ensures that on the collective investment undertakings look through template (S.06.03), lines marked as liabilities are shown as positive values. This conflicts with the instructions in the S.06.03 Annex III of the implementing technical standard which states that for derivatives the value can be negative where it is a liability.
Answer
When an item is a liability, excluding derivatives, then it is classified as "L" and needs to be reported positive. If the item is a derivative, it is classified as "A" to "F" and its value can be positive or negative. Due to the high number of "L" reported as negative in 2.4.0 we will amend the error message of validation BV797 and make it blocking.
