Question
For companies that are not specialized reinsurers,"accepted reinsurance" is more like one line of business they accepted from another company, not like they have one Reinsurance Product offering to the market.
In this case, definitely HRG level of information will be provided. However, would the Product ID level of information still be expected to be delivered?
Answer
The requirements of the template do not differentiate between a specialized and a non-specialized reinsurer. It is acknowledged that in case of accepted reinsurance, undertakings are expected to provide information on a best effort basis. See also Q&A 1238 in this respect.
However, in general, a higher level of granularity is expected for specialized reinsurers.
