Question
Can you advise what currency we should be inputting monetary data into the reinsurance template (s.30.01)Is it the original currency as entered into C0120, or the reporting currency?
The LOG file for s.30.01 C0120 implies we should use the original currency - but I have seen elsewhere that the only templates where reporting in a currency other than reporting currency is relevant are S.16.01 and S.19.01.
Answer
In S.30.01, S.30.02, S.30.03 and S.30.04 the monetary amounts must be expressed in the currency used while placing the reinsurance cover or reinsurance treaty, unless otherwise required by the national supervisory authority. Nevertheless, the currency to be used should be consistent for all 4 reinsurance templates.
