Question

How shall cells in column c040 in template C 101.00 be filled out in case of counterparties with multiple ratings?

Background

The DPM and the taxonomy for the benchmarking exercise – version v2.6 – do not allow column c040 (rating) to be left blank, but require a value. This is not in line with Q&A 2017_3215 (consistent with the ITS on Benchmarking) where the column can be left blank in case a counterparty has multiple ratings (e.g. country transfer risks).

Answer

In version 2.6 of the DPM, column 040 of template C 101.00 of Annex III to the Draft ITS on benchmarking cannot be left blank for technical reasons. Therefore, by deviation from Q&A 2017_3215 , the following shall apply for the benchmarking exercise 2018 (applicable for the reference date end-2017 data): If a counterparty has been assigned multiple rating grades in accordance with Article 172 (1) (e) of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 (CRR), column 040 of template C 101.00 of Annex III to the Draft ITS on Supervisory Benchmarking shall be filled with the rating grade zero (0).   Disclaimer The present Q&A on Supervisory reporting is provisional. It will be reviewed after the Implementing Regulation is in force and published in the Official Journal. The text of the Implementing Regulation may differ from the text of the draft ITS to which this Q&A refers.
